ABOUT US RMEC was founded by four
partners as Rocky Mountain Environmental Consultants, an L.L.C. in May of
2001. At the time of RMEC’s inception, three of the founding partners
Frank DeRosso, Dr. Dean Lillquist and Dr. Dale Stephenson were full time
faculty at the University of Utah’s Rocky Mountain Center for
Occupational and Environmental Health (RMCOEH) and the fourth founding
partner was Daryl Hancock who had formerly served as the Environmental Manager
for the I-15 Reconstruction Project in Salt Lake City, Utah. RMEC began with
a handful of private and public sector clients throughout the Salt Lake
Valley and intermountain west region.
Mr. Hancock was dedicated full-time to RMEC as the other partners
maintained their faculty positions at the RMCOEH, contributing to RMEC on a
part-time basis. In June of 2003, due to the high growth and demands at RMEC,
Mr. DeRosso resigned his full-time faculty position at the RMCOEH and began
working full-time for RMEC. In 2004, Dr. Lillquist accepted a position with
the OSHA as the Director of the Salt Lake City Technical Center and Dr.
Stephenson accepted a position as the Director of the Environmental Health
Program at Boise State University. Due to conflicts of interests associated
with these new positions, Dr. Lillquist and Dr. Stephenson were bought out of
their interests in RMEC in December of 2004. With the buyout of these
founding partners, Rocky Mountain Environmental Consultants, L.L.C. converted
to an S-corporation and changed its name to RMEC Environmental, Inc. With
this conversion, RMEC retained the legal name of Rocky Mountain Environmental
Consultants for doing business in the state of Utah. Since
its inception, RMEC's highest priority is providing practical and
cost-effective solutions to occupational and environmental safety and health
problems. RMEC is experienced in all aspects of regulatory compliance
