SIN 899-2: ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE SERVICES
RMEC provides environmental compliance services for government and commercial clients and facilities throughout the western US. RMEC's environmental compliance services include:

Environmental Compliance Auditing
RMEC is fully qualified and experienced in conducting environmental compliance audits and inspections of industrial and commercial facilities. RMEC's staff has experience working with EPA, state regulatory agencies and industrial clients. We have performed audits and inspections in a wide selection of facilities ranging from heavy industrial facilities to high tech pharmaceutical facilities. These settings include wastewater treatment facilities, RCRA hazardous waste facilities, smelters and foundries, chemical manufacturing plants, electric utility power plants, solvent recovery and recycling facilities, coating operations and many types of industrial manufacturing plants.

Compliance Management and Contingency Planning
RMEC has found that the current trend of growing international awareness and new regulations pose serious challenges and liabilities to our private and public sector clients. RMEC provides comprehensive environmental management services and contingency plan development. RMEC can assist with compliance management and contingency planning for entire agencies or specific facilities. This assistance includes policy development and dissemination, implementation of compliance plans and evaluation and recommendations for corrective actions.

Environmental Permitting and Reporting
RMEC has assisted public and private clients in obtaining the various local, state and federal permits required by the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. RMEC provides comprehensive permitting consultation services to guide clients through the elaborate and ever-changing environmental permitting and reporting requirements. SIN 899-4: WASTE MANAGEMENT SERVICES
Growing pollution problems around the world demand the kind of leading-edge, multidisciplinary solutions that RMEC provides in the management of recyclable materials and hazardous wastes, including polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB)-contaminated waste, radiological wastes, mixed wastes, asbestos-contaminated waste, oily wastes, medical wastes, mine tailings and sanitary wastes. RCRA/CERCLA Site Investigations
RMEC is experienced in working within the comprehensive regulatory system designed to investigate and address past, present and future environmental contamination at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites, chemical spill sites and hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal facilities. RMEC has the experience and qualified staff to provide support to facilities for permitting, closure and compliance with RCRA regulations. RMEC will determine how RCRA will apply to a facility and develop innovative and cost-effective solutions that enable a facility to manage their hazardous and solid waste. RMEC also provides safety and health oversight during the clean up of Superfund and other hazardous waste sites.

Hazard and Exposure Assessments
The principles of risk assessment strongly influence clean up decisions at contaminated sites. Often, exposures to multiple chemicals through several potential pathways occur during site activities and this makes the application of published exposure standards or occupational exposure limits a difficult task. RMEC staff includes certified industrial hygienists (CIHs) and other environmental health professionals with extensive training, education and experience in performing toxicological evaluations and risk assessments.

Development, Management and Operation of Solid Waste and Recycling Programs
RMEC personnel have experience in the comprehensive management of solid waste programs with emphasis on waste reduction through the promotion of recycling programs for public and private sector clients.

Mold Inspections and Indoor Air Quality Investigations
Chemical and/or biological contaminants in indoor environments and improperly designed and operated ventilation systems have often been cited as the cause of health complaints from building occupants. RMEC personnel have extensive experience in performing Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) investigations to identify potential causal factors related to these types of complaints. RMEC performs comprehensive assessments of air and surface samples for pesticides, solvents, molds, allergens and other agents of a chemical and/or biological origin.
